Get the most from your Overlocker ( 1-1 session)

Overlocker machines are designed for sewing stretch/knit fabrics, but are also great for getting neat and professional looking edge finishes in home dressmaking/sewing.

Have an overlocker you haven’t got to grips with or thinking of investing in an overlocker? Look no further…

1-1 class covers threading your overlocker, settings, functions and troubleshooting. Practice and take home a set of samples of what your machine can do and learn a few tricks along the way.

Includes 3 and 4 thread overlocking, use of the differential feed, rolled hems, flatlocking and more.

Sew a little Girls dungaree Dress or skirt with pockets

Make an dungaree dress, for a little girl age 1-5,  Or maybe a little skirt with pockets.

please be able to thread a sewing machine and sew a straight line.

Take home a finished dress and the skills to go on and make more – techniques covered include using a paper pattern, bias binding and inserting a concealed zip.

Teach me to sew

A class designed for complete beginners – if you’ve just acquired a new sewing machine and want to learn more about it, or if you would start sewing from the very beginning then this class is for you. You will learn to wind a bobbin, thread and how to set up your machine ready for sewing. You will go through a series of exercises to gain confidence and to perfect your skills before making a simple envelop cushion cover. All materials are included in this class.

Sewing next steps – Tote bags

If you have already done the beginners ‘teach me to sew’ with Angela and you are comfortable with your machine then this intermediate level class is the “next step’ for you.

During this class Angela will take you through the trickier aspects of sewing with a machine and you will make a tote bag to take home.

Hand Embroidery with photographic fabric (intermediate level)

This intermediate class is great for those who love hand embroidery and would like to have a go at something unusual and creative, using their current skills in hand embroidery. Tutor Paula will take you through the different stitches, to create different styles and patterns. A great class for those wishing  to personalise their projects.

This short class starts with a ‘show and tell’ of samples and discussion of when and where to use them and then allows you the opportunity to practice some of the techniques.

Includes French seams, Bias binding, Blind and invisible hems, Rolled and Pin hems, hems on stretch fabrics, jeans hems and more. Hand and machine sewing.

Suitable for beginners, those needing a refresher and students.
