January workshops 2025 – Book Now!
Did you get a voucher for Christmas? May be your first sewing machine? Or did you find that overlocker still in its box hiding being the xmas decorations?
So many of you have asked for beginners classes, that we are now offering two workshops! One during the day and one on an evening. We also have our new monthly Monday Sewcial club, garment making, Sashiko, darning and new one day workshop making a sleeveless top pattern. Also, 1-1 for overlocker help or if you have a specific project you need help with. Finally we see the return of Jo Joof art club.

Wednesday 8th 3 week Beginners Machine Sewing 🪡 Course
Join Anna for this 3 week evening class designed for beginners to a sewing machine. Learn the basic skills for sewing, alongside making some simple projects to take home. All equipment including machines are here at Millie Moon for you to use and the price includes your choice of fabrics for your projects so no need to bring anything! Suitable for 16yrs+ or 14yrs if accompanied by a participating adult.

Sunday 12th Visible Mending 🪡With Skye @slowstitchclub
Morning: Darning
In this 3 hour workshop you will look at the best ways to repair knitwear using darning. We will look at all the equipment you need to get started and cover tips and tricks to help along the way. Skye will run through methods such as woven, honeycomb and scotch darns before moving on to repairing your favourite knits. Suitable for beginners and sewing enthusiasts alike.

Afternoon: Sashiko
Slow stitch club teaches the art of visible mending using simple and traditional sewing techniques to repair clothing in a creative, visible and intentional way. In this 3 hour workshop we will look at the best ways to repair denim and woven fabrics. This workshop’s suitable for beginners and sewing enthusiasts.

Monday 13th Introduction to Machine Sewing 🧵
Suitable for complete beginners to using a sewing machine. Spend the day with Becki learning the basics from threading a machine to sewing in a straight line. With the aim of making an envelope cushion cover to take home. 10-3pm £100 includes lunch and materials

Tuesday 14th Garment Making Evening Class 🧵With Anna
Bring our fabric, pattern and notions along to this six week evening class and let Anna guide you through the process, at your pace, with lots of helpful tips and advice along the way.
This workshop is suitable for beginners to garment making with machine skills or intermediates who want to try a more advanced project. Small groups mean there’s lots of attention for everyone. 4:15-6:15pm or 6:30-8:30pm
£198 6 weeks (bring your own project, fabric etc)
Sunday 19th Pattern Drafting – Draft a Sleeveless Top 🪡
In this day workshop, we are going to understand the process of making a simple pattern. Starting with a bodice block, you will learn how to move darts, add ease and transform a block in order to draft a sleeveless top. You will learn how to add yokes, a collar, a button placket, frills, pockets etc depending on what you’d like to make. (if you have attended the previous bodice block class please bring this along with you). Basic sewing skills needed.

Join Anna for this fun morning session, where teens with machine experience, can learn how to make a fabric drawstring back pack using their own materials.

Join Kelly between 10am -12pm on the last Monday of each month for a get together where you can sew, chat and shop with 10% discount! For £10 a session you are welcome to use our equipment such as sewing machines while enjoying a cuppa and gorgeous cakes from @silverstreetbakery all included in the price.
