Indian print cottons
The cotton is hand printed in a small factory in Jaipur. it’s a rapid print using all natural dyes.
Indigo blue prints, Dabu is a mud resist hand block print using indigo dye. Indigo is a fixed dye as it bonds with the fibers of the fabric upon hitting the air in an oxidation process. However indigo dyes often have some excess dye in the fabric. It is recommended that you wash the fabric at 30 degrees seperately before sewing to wash out this excess. A spoon full of salt in the wash will help set the dye even more. Do not tumble dry as the heat may cause the print to fadeprematurely. Dry in shade as direct sunlight may fade the natural dyes.
Pigment prints are dyes that have been through an acid bath that fixes them, this is the traditional technique. Machine wash at 30 degrees. Do not tumble dry as the heat may cause the print to fade prematurely. Dry in the shade as direct sunlight may fade the natural dyes.
