Ruby Star Society’s Warp & Weft: Mystic Fable is a beautifully textured woven fabric collection designed to coordinate with the bold, celestial artwork of the main Mystic Fable range. These yarn‑dyed wovens feature rich colour, subtle stripes, soft checks and a tactile handfeel that adds depth and dimension to any project.
Possessing an airy, fluid drape great for gathers or pleats, it falls softly against the body, making it ideal for quilts and garment pieces like button-down shirts and swishy dresses.
Woven rather than printed, the fabric has a gentle drape and a slightly rustic, handcrafted character – perfect for quilts, garments, bags, cushions and modern home décor. The palette blends seamlessly with the Mystic Fable prints, featuring deep blues, warm ochres, soft neutrals and moody jewel tones that elevate patchwork and apparel alike.
Whether used as feature fabrics or supporting textures, Warp & Weft: Mystic Fable brings warmth, movement and a beautifully modern aesthetic to your sewing.
For working with wovens, the designer recommends to: press gently, use a true 1/4” seam allowance, use a shorter stitch length, prewash fabrics, use starch. Due to the woven nature of this fabric, it can fray easily, requiring gentle handling and finished seams using finishing techniques or an overlocker.
All fabrics are sold and priced in quarter metre increments.Please order the number of fat quarters for the final size of fabric required eg: 4 for 1 metre
