Well,here we are approaching the end of a long and gloomy January. We are beginning to see our lovely new spring fabrics arriving, bringing some colour to the grey. Plus we have a great list of workshops coming up. A great time to learn a new skill, mend those holes or even start your summer wardrobe.
Workshops Spring 2024
Mending
Mend and decorate your clothes in a creative visible and intentional way. As beautiful as it is practical, join Skye for one or maybe both of these workshops and make your wardrobe last longer and be more sustainable.

Garment making
Join Anna and learn how to measure, layout, cut and construct your garment. Choose from using a Merchant and Mills pattern and make it in a day, or bring your own choice of pattern and work through the 6 week evening class.
Anna is also running her popular 6 week skills sessions. These sessions focus on a different skill each week including, zips & buttonholes, hems & finishing techniques, using and alterating paper patterns, working with stretch including an overlocker demonstration as well as mending and alterations.
Or maybe you have that overlocker still sat in the box? These are 1-1 sessions with Anna that take the fear out of using an overlocker to give your garments that professional finish.
Sunday 11th February -make a merchant and mills garment in a day with Anna £115 10-5pm (includes pattern and light lunch)
Tuesday 12th March – 6 week dressmaking for beginners with Anna £198 4.15-6.15pm (bring own pattern, fabric and notions)

All Suitable for beginners with basic machine skills and those who want to try a more difficult pattern and improve their skills.
Patchwork and Quilting
Fancy a go at patchwork, Join lucy for a whole day, cover the basics of quilting and patchwork. Lucy will teach you the principles of patchwork, cutting, piecing, hand quilting, ties and the skill of binding. All materials provided

Kids and Teens
Kids club is back from February! Join Claire for this fun monthly hand sewing club. There is a new project each month. All materials provided £18 4.30-6.30pm

Also on 21st April Becki is back with her popular kids machine sewing for beginners. This class is for kids and teens age 10+. Learn how to thread a machine, sew some simple stitches and create a tote bag in your choice of fabric from the millie moon range. A great starting point for that budding fashion designer or those studying fashion textiles! £45
